Title: Turtles All The Way Down
Author: John Green
Publisher: Penguin Books Australia
About the book: Aza Holmes is a 16-year-old teenager diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder. She often goes into what she calls ‘thought spirals’, times when she can only think of one thing, and cannot stop thinking about it. When her best friend’s father goes missing, Aza hopes that she can solve the mystery.
What I thought: I am a big fan of the author, John Green, and in this book he did not disappoint. I enjoyed many of the references to things like Star Wars and other nerd culture. The story was both gripping and entertaining.
I found the book quite funny in places, as well as being serious in others. I really liked the voice of the book, as it felt real.
I would recommend this book for ages 14+ as it contains adult themes and references to mental health issues.
