What I read this month: April 2019

What I read this month April 2019 |’m behind with my #52booksin52weeks challenge, but the school work comes first. I’m not ready to concede defeat just yet!

Just two books again this month:

While Mortals Sleep by Kurt Vonnegut

A collection of previously unpublished short fiction from one of my newer favourite authors. Vonnegut has the power to both entertain, whilst simultaneously provoking thought, and sometimes even laughter.

Selected Poems by Les Murray

Before his recent death, I only really knew the late poet as a name. I hadn’t read any of his unique, often profound views on the world he lived in. His observations of nature, religion, and death are some of the most interesting I have ever read.

My favourite Les Murray poem is ‘The Last Hellos’, an elegy for his father.
