About the book

Morrigan Crow is a Cursed Child. Doomed to die on Eventide, everything that goes wrong around her town is blamed on her. When she has the chance to escape death and run away to a magical world and join a secret society, she is flung into an adventure far beyond her wildest dreams.

Upon entering, she learns she must complete a number of trials in order to remain there.

What I thought

This book had me hooked from the first page. A great fantasy adventure full of magic, wonder and adventure, this book is terrifically written and reminds me of the Harry Potter series.

The characters are all very interesting and somewhat outrageous, such as a dog-faced boy, and a talking cat.

This book was a really good, funny-in-places fantasy adventure that I really enjoyed. While it looks big, at 400 pages, it’s an easy read and doesn’t feel long. I recommend this book for ages 11+.
