Elf donuts are quite possibly the cutest class Christmas gift you’ll ever find. This elf donuts free printable makes them the easiest gift you’ll ever find too!

Kids go gaga for elf donuts, even though they are really just boring old Cheerios with a fancy festive dress on. You could even kid yourself that elf donuts are healthy… ish.

To make the elf donuts boxes

We started with some cute mini-kraft boxes from Blank. You can also get boxes like these from most craft stores. Boxes are 50 x 50 x 50mm and labels print at 48.5 x 48.5 x 48.5 (95% of box). We also lined the elf donuts boxes with grease proof paper to keep things nice inside.

To make the elf donuts

All you need is a box of Cheerios. They actually look elf-donutty enough without doing anything to them, but you can make them extra fancy by dipping them in a little icing and then into sprinkles. The kids really enjoyed this bit! We also dusted some with a little icing sugar – you can have fun experimenting with different donut finishes!

For the icing

Mix plain icing sugar with enough water (not much) to make a slighly-runny paste. Add pink food colouring or enough cocoa powder to make a dark chocolate coating. We used tweezers to handle the little donuts when we dipped them into the icing and then into the sprinkles.

To finish the elf donuts

Add the donuts to the boxes and you’re done.

If you’re not keen to make multiples of these boxes for all the kids in the class, you could always make a few for dear friends or neighbours. The kids might like to put out a box on Christmas eve to say thank you to the elves… the elf donuts go down a treat with a glass of Baileys.
